Wario shakes up YouTube

If you were on the fence about picking up Wario’s latest adventure, this “gameplay” video may inspire you to break down and get a copy. That is, unless your financial state is falling apart, then I would suggest a rent. Dropping five bucks for some quality 2D demolition is five bucks well spent.

But for now, onward to the video! And its wonderfully climactic ending! I’ll say this much, Wario’s Shake It moniker means business.

First Impression: Wario Land Shake It! Demo

Considering how terrible Wario’s last adventure was on his latest Nintendo DS offering, it looks like Wario Land:Shake It! is shaping up to be Wario’s comeback title. The video shows some simple traditional gameplay, demonstrating his signature dash, butt-stomp and world famous loot plundering. It also looks like it borrows similar platforming techniques that can be found on Yoshi’s island, and his submarine stage looks similar to what I’ve played on Super Mario Land. It looks like I will have to double up on my garlic consumption while I wait for this title to hit the North American shores.

See some spectacular scans showing Shake It!

Why is it that whenever companies center game logos on box art, the feel the need to include the “TM” as part of the logo’s width? It’s not noticeable at first glance, but the fact that the rest of the logo is a little bit “off” now is.

That’s the case with the box art for Wario Land: Shake It! You can view a larger version of the North American box art after the break. There are also a couple of magazine page scans as well, so be sure to check those out while clicking “Full Size” to see the larger versions. Visually, the game’s shaking up to be quite impressive visually, and you can get a peek at some of the game’s handdrawn cutscene artwork.
