No Viewtiful Godkami for you
Mega Daddy Keiji Inafune was interviewed by recently. He had quite a few things to say about future games from Capcom. When asked about the possibility of sequels to games developed by the now-defunct Clover studio (Viewtiful Joe, Okami, and God Hand), Inafune had this to say:
At this time, we have no plans of making sequels to any of those properties. I can’t say we won’t, for certain, but it’s not very likely or appealing. If we had no other properties to depend on for making new games, we might be desperate enough to create sequels to those titles, but that’s not the case. We have a lot of titles that we want to make and other sequels that are waiting to be made. So, there’s no interest at the moment.
And when asked to confirm that Capcom does own the rights to all of Clover’s intellectual property:
Yes. But, we’re just not interested in them.
I can feel my heart shattering into a million little pieces right there in my chest. When I throw myself into a meat grinder, that’s going to be the only thing on my suicide note. “We’re just not interested in them.” Hey, Capcom. How about just selling them to Platinum Games if you don’t want them?
Well the interview may have ruined my life forever, but it’s still a good read. Check out the link if you want to.

Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development over at Capcom, has given hope for fans wishing to see more Viewtiful Joe games. The Viewtiful Joe were developed by the now-dissolved Clover Studio, but Okami’s Wii release has shown us that Capcom can and will bring back Clover properties they deem worth their trouble.
