Nintendo lets Skyward Sword trailer fly for SDCC

Some thing tells me that all of the Nintendites in San Diego this weekend patiently waiting to get there mitts on a Master Sword with a WiiMotion Plus attachment jammed into the hilt will be treated to a 90-second loop of this music. Luckily, the music is pretty darn fantastic.

While there is a fair amount of repeat footage in there, you really can’t complain about a Zelda trailer that eclipses the 90-second mark. That Goron with a backpack better be bringing me super rare wallpapers or carpets for my brand new house, especially considering Sahara hasn’t shown her face in quite some time.

Debut trailer for Back to the Future game released

Thanks to GameTrailers TV, we finally get a look at the first trailer for Back to the Future: The Game. The five-part episodic adventure kicks off later this month, with the episode “It’s About Time.” The new trailer explains some of the story surrounding Marty’s first bit of time-traveling escapades, which includes getting Doc Brown out of jail.

After episode 1, Telltale plans to release each new episode per month, starting in February.

With everything included between the sound effects, the Huey Lewis soundtrack, and the voice work of Christopher Lloyd, I’m truly blown away by how great the game looks. And how amazing is A.J. LoCascio, providing the voicework for Marty McFly? Just incredible.

Sega releases one heck of a Conduit 2 intro video

Hell to the freakin’ yeah. Now I know exactly what I’m thankful for this year; Sega has released the intro video for next year’s much-anticipated Wii first-person-shooter, Conduit 2, and it’s pretty intense.

The game follows Michael Ford, same protagonist from the first title — except no longer voiced by Hercules himself Kevin Sorbo. Amping up the sci-fi elements, developer High Voltage Software really impresses with the new environments, and a clear dedication to game’s story. Admit it HD fanboys, based on the quality presented, you would have had no idea this was a Wii exclusive.

And after you’ve watched the awesomeness that is the trailer above, how much does the A.S.E.’s voice sound just like K.I.T.T. from Knightrider? God, this game is so full of win, I barely have room for turkey.

Nintendo’s Fluidity splashing onto WiiWare Dec 6

Nintendo’s been known to innovate both in hardware and software offerings. Their latest WiiWare creation is no different. Fluidity blends puzzle with platformer, where players will guide a liquid puddle through mazes and obstacles riddled within an illustrated encyclopedia called Aquaticus.

Navigating the pool of water depends on the movements of the Wii Remote. Tilt to move, shake to jump, or use your power-up abilities to transform water into vapor or ice.

Fluidity will release on WiiWare December 6 for 1200 Wii Points. For a brief look at how to play, view the video above.

Unlock exclusive upgrades for Beyblade: Metal Fusion

The latest trailer has arrived for high-action Beyblade: Metal Fushion, for the Nintendo DS. Once players “let it rip,” their custom Beyblade discs will spin and attack their opponent’s disc until certain victory is declared.

On November 21, Hudson will offer Beybladers a special opportunity to unlock upgrades exclusively on Amazon.com that will give you a boost over the competition. To unlock, you’ll need to get one of the five special passwords that will be included on the Amazon page, linked below. Hudson warns that players will need to have cleared the game with one of the characters prior to unlocking.

Videos explore Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Project Legacy

You’ve barely had enough time to rip the plastic of your fresh new copy of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, but that’s not going to stop Ubisoft from preparing a brand new behind-the-scenes trailer for your viewing pleasure. The above is a developer’s walkthrough, giving you a bit of insight into what it takes to become a skilled assassin, mainly by dominating in the virtual training ground, while utilizing the game’s new sync system.

And below the break, we’ve got a look at the new Facebook game, Assassin’s Creed Project Legacy. The “social RPG” will link together with Brotherhood, to deepen your Assassin’s Creed experience. Learn more by watching the developer’s behind-the-scenes video down below.

Lord of the Rings – War in the North “Untold Story’ trailer

J.R.R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings franchise seems to have a pair of epic legs, a series that appears to have no intention of slowing down. And while it may be some time before impatient fans are feasting their eyes on the almost canceled big screen adaptation of The Hobbit, that certainly doesn’t mean one’s fix for Middle-earth should dry up. To the contrary!

From Warner Bros. Interactive comes the new video game, Lord of the Rings: War in the North. Set to release next year on the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, the RPG leaves the ring behind and places you on a quest up North to conquer the looming darkness.

Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood launch brings new multiplayer mode

Having only Seann William Scott’s artful interpretation of parkour in the flick Cop Out to keep us satisfied this year, audiences became eager for the return of the original Italian Spider-Man, Ezio Auditore. Ezio returns with a brand new adventure, with today’s launch of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. The title boasts an epic single-player experience, which has already received quite the warm reception from critics. For the first time in the series however, the game brings forth a brand new multiplayer mode.

Take on the role as an Abstergo agent, where training will give you the skills needed to conquer rival assassins. Naturally, this involves a crap load of stabbing, slashing and all sorts of brutality, as shown in the above trailer. For a closer look at the game’s single-player mode, view the new trailer below.

Brotherhood is now available on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

L.A. Noire debut trailer boasts stellar character animations

Rockstar Games has a good thing coming if L.A Noire’s debut trailer is any indication. The game is an open sandbox, crime-solving mystery title set in 1940s Los Angeles. Following a cast of well-dressed detectives, you’ll have to solve a string of murders by using your wit through heated interrogations, disregarded evidence and high-speed car chases.

Despite a well-developed narrative, the real star of this trailer is the incredible voice acting, mixed with flawless facial animations. L.A. Noire offers the most realistic eye and mouth animations on their cast of characters that I’ve ever seen in a video game. And each voice actor does an incredible job lending their chops, including Kevin Scott Allen of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fame. Good things come to those who wait I suppose, as the game’s developer Team Bondi has been working on the title since early 2004.

L.A. Noire is set to be released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in early 2011.

Chaos erupts in new Donkey Kong Country trailer

The above “Eruption Trailer” features DK and Diddy jumping through hippo hopping, shark swimming, and bat biting levels. Although the music is terrible, reminiscent of that snooze-fest featured on Toad’s Factory in Mario Kart Wii, the visuals more than make up for it. And how freakin’ cool is the shadowy fog-filled background level?

Donkey Kong Country Returns will barrel blast to Wii November 21.

Epic battles rage on with new Shogun 2: Total War trailer

From Sega’s development team The Creative Assembly comes the latest trailer for Shogun 2: Total War, the upcoming PC strategy game. Taking place during the mid-16th Century in Japan, clan leader Daimyo must bring the divided country of Japan together under his command, with aspirations of becoming the land’s Shogun (or ruler).

Take a look at the latest trailer above, to gain insight on the game’s background and story. You’ll also note extremely impressive 3D visuals, beautiful weather and fire effects and large scaled battles (of nearly 56,000 soldiers) taking place between both land and sea.

Shogun 2: Total War will be released exclusively for PC in 2011.

The Creatinator maximizes creation in LittleBigPlanet 2

Sonic races hoverboard style with Free Riders for Kinect

Sega is showing their support for Microsoft’s Kinect peripheral by bringing the next installment of Sonic’s hoverboard racing franchise to Xbox 360 as a Kinect launch title. In stores today comes Sonic Free Riders, a high-action racing title that puts the player’s body in the shoes of the racer. Jump, push and shift your body to navigate the terrain in order to win each race.

An impressive new CG trailer has been released today, for the game’s launch — and yes, it comes with a snazzy background tune in typical Sonic trailer fashion, a jingle that’s more appropriate for a 90s cartoon theme song.

The Kinect-exclusive Sonic Free Riders is available now for $49.99.

Activision’s GoldenEye 007 (rocket) launches with new trailer

It was just this past June when Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime took to the E3 stage to break the news of a brand new GoldenEye game, coming exclusively for the Wii console. Tomorrow, November 2, GoldenEye 007 releases.

Activision has a brand new HD trailer to showoff the game to any doubters or naysayers. There’s a lot of new (online multiplayer, new weapons, new locales), mixed with a lot of old (familiar characters, familiar weapons, familiar story) which should work to please fans of retro N64 shooters, hardcore next-gen FPS titles, and of course the Bond franchise.

I look forward to seeing you guys and girls online, as your heads explode in succession thanks to a few well-placed proximity mines.

Donkey Kong Country Returns trailer chock full of Retro

The fact that we haven’t seen a Donkey Kong Country title in fourteen years is appalling, an absolute embarrassment that has served as the video game industry’s biggest shame. To think that one of the best platformers of all time, wait, no… the best video game platformer of all time hasn’t received a fresh coat of paint since the SNES days is a travesty. Thankfully Nintendo and Retro have teamed up to bring Donkey and Diddy Kong to Wii in the all new adventure Donkey Kong Country Returns.

We’ve gotten dibs and dabs of what’s in store for the next adventure, but no video or screen or even gameplay session has tickled my fancy as much as this new trailer. Stepping in for Rare to bring DK into the 2010s, Retro Studios stays true to the original trilogy while bringing their own madness to the monkey mayhem. The remixed original music, the returning classic DKC elements and the brand new original gameplay elements all work together brilliantly. Retro took the retro, and mixed it with their own genius to bring the fresh DK title we’ve been begging for.
