For an extra 10 bucks, you can opt for an “Exclusive Edition” of the statue, that will come bundled with a print of the original design artwork by artist Adam Hudges. Here’s what a certain part of the Coastal Thailand level in Tomb Raider: Underworld should look like. As found out earlier this week, it’s not always there. Responding to the discovery of this game-killing glitch, Eidos has apologized for the imperfection slipping through the cracks.

We are aware of a bug which is present in the Nintendo Wii version of Tomb Raider: Underworld. We would like to stress that this is an extremely infrequent bug, however on the rare occasion that it occurs; it affects the presence of a lever in the Thailand level of the game and prevents progress beyond this level. Eidos sincerely apologies to anyone who has experienced this frustrating problem.

The quality of our games is paramount to us and the Nintendo Wii version of Tomb Raider: Underworld went through three separate QA testing departments prior to release. Regrettably anomalies such as this do occur occasionally in videogames despite the best efforts by publishers to avoid them. The good news is that it is not an unsolvable bug, so if you encounter it and it persists please visit www.eidosinteractive.co.uk/support/worldmap.html.

See that? It’s a link to tech support. They’ll tell you to use the replacement save file, or revert to the most recent save and hope it doesn’t happen again. No disc replacement programs here, folks.

The Wii version of Tomb Raider: Underworld suffers from a serious glitch near the end of the Thailand level. Near the end of the stage, there is a room with a lever Lara has to pull to open a door and advance. In the Wii version, that lever isn’t necessarily there. Not only that, but people who have been affected by this glitch have tried reloading from a previous save or restarting the game entirely with little success. This is a pretty serious problem, so if you were planning on picking up a copy of Tomb Raider: Underworld for Wii, you may want to wait and see what (if anything) is done about it. Eidos has released a save file from after the room with the glitch, but any treasures you’ve collected up to that point obviously won’t be in the new file. You can find that save and more information regarding it in the Gamer Investments link below.

Someone should tell Eidos that the Wii doesn’t work with patches very well.

Here’s that other trailer from Tomb Raider: Underworld, apparently showing Lara making her way into an ancient Mexican temple. I always love these types of scenes. You know, the ones where stone architecture can keep from becoming slippery in the rain. The ones where archaeologists bother to do a front walkover across a random beam atop ancient ruins.

I mean. I don’t know what a front walkover is. Really.

One of the latest teaser trailers for Eidos’ Tomb Raider: Underworld takes Lara Croft under the sea. The Mediterranean Sea, that is. All this time, I’ve been wondering if there were any similar alternatives to Endless Ocean, and here we get the chance to blow up sharks, swim through a field of jellyfish, and chase after giant eels.

I’ll be uploading another video soon. Until then, enjoy the the jellyfish. I call him Squishy.

Tomb Raider Underworld is on the way for the Wii, so cinematics director Toby Gard and creative director Eric Lindstrom are here to explain the game, from the process to the decisions, and so forth. You get details about the use of Mexican, Cambodian, Thai and Norse mythology and even some artifacts and visuals lifted from those same locations.
