Amidst all the iPad hoopla, some iPhone news! Sims 3 expansion World Adventures, has finally traversed the long road to Touch and iPhone. Like the PC original, your Sims can now visit Egypt, France, and China, as well as pick up new items, learn new skills, take on new goals, and more. Also like the original, players will be able to rock out to music from artists like Matt & Kim and Leann Rhimes, re-recorded in Simlish. Check out the new screen shots in our updated gallery below.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – April 2, 2010 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced the availability of The Sims™ 3 World Adventures on the iPhone® and iPod touch®. This all-new experience from The Sims 3 franchise allows players to travel with their Sims to three real-world inspired destinations in Egypt, France, and China. Each exciting location offers a world of possibilities for Sims who can embark on adventures or even find romance. Players can also import/export their Sim’s appearance back and forth between the iPhone and iPod touch versions of The Sims World Adventures and The Sims 3.

Players can enjoy enhanced yet classic The Sims style gameplay and choose from dozens of new goals, mini-games, town maps, plus several personas, careers and quests. While visiting any of the new destinations, Sims will be able to meet locals and explorers, make friends, fall in love or make enemies. Players can pick from a prosperous selection of new clothing styles, furniture, and facial characteristics to sport a unique and cultural look in each destination.

Additionally, players can travel to the tune of seven artists who recorded their hit songs in Simlish, the official language of The Sims, for the game including GRAMMY Award-winner LeAnn Rimes, plus hot new stars Matt + Kim, Katie Melua, Young Punx!, and more.

Sigh. My how the Sims have changed. It used to be the most fun I could have on the game was decorating my home down to every last detail with the attentive finesse the likes of which Martha Stewart has never seen. That, and drowning the kids in the pool (ah, domestic bliss).

Taking the customization craze one step further, the makers of Sims 3 have released an official terrain editor. Users can design an entire world from a blank canvas, use Photoshop (or other programs) to create their own items, and use content from World Adventures and The Sims Store to make a one of a kind creation to play and share with friends.

That Nelly Furtado, what a good sport. I don’t know how I’d feel about having a Sims version of myself, but then, I ain’t Nelly. She’d probably look fantastic in any form. I, on the other hand, would be thanking the Maker that computer animation is the ultimate ab air-brusher!
