Wii-owning Resident Evil fans to be happy

Resident Evil 5 is coming soon, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. When questioned for what was probably the millionth time about a possible Wii version, Capcom Associate Product Marketing Manager Matt Dahlgren gave this reply:

It was made for the Xbox 360 and PS3. That being said, Nintendo Wii fans will be very happy very soon.

Oh, really? Just how happy? Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles 2 happy? Resident Evil 5: Racism Till You Drop happy? How about Resident Evil 6 happy? Those are some pretty widely varying degrees of happiness. You may remember recent rumblings about the desire of Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata to make a Wii Resident Evil. Well, whatever Dahlgren was referring to, we’ll probably know soon.

Dead Rising and MotoGP make up stellar Capcom line up

Capcom needs to work on their press release headings. I read “Resident Evil® 5, Street Fighter® IV, Bionic Commando®, Dead RisingTM: Chop Till You Drop, FLOCK! and MotoGPTM for WiiTM Ready to Dominate the Console World” as being some megaton announcement for Wii owners. And then I read the rest of the release.

Still, it’s a good day when Dead Rising gets a firm release date for the Wii – you’ll be buying it on February 27th. If you insist on not chopping till your drop, MotoGP will also be available for Wii owners sometime in the middle of May. This is, of course, on top of the automatic purchases of Resident Evil 5 and Street Fighter IV, since some of us just don’t want to believe Jill is really dead. Or worse – the epitomy of “dead rising” in a game about zombies.

Capcom’s official press release can be read after the break.

It came from Kijuju..

It came from Kijuju..

Capcom sent us a creepy link, hidden amongst a mess of text, all repeating the same phrase: “It came from Kijuju”. After following the link, you’ll find yourself staring straight at a wall with the same idea as our email. It came from Kijuju is interspersed with a bunch of other insane ramblings, and you have to figure out what it all means.

I personally have reached a certain part of the puzzle and am now stumped. Figure it out for us and let us know what’s up! Mad props to the person who figures it out first.

A Resident Evil 5 Wii port will be difficult for Capcom

Published by Ryan

With the amazing controls that were added to the Wii Edition of Resident Evil 4, it would seem foolish not to think about a possibility of a Resident Evil 5 port. Capcom has indeed been pondering this question, the game’s producer, Jun Takeuchi, has stated:

Hmm…honestly speaking, we’re kind of pushing the 360 and PS3 to their limits right now, so it would probably be pretty difficult to create a Wii version of RE5.

Even though a Wii port at this position seems difficult, I can’t help but get the feeling of “Sour Grapes” from various Wii fans/haters that have stated, “If Capcom doesn’t do it, it probably wouldn’t be any good anyways.”

E3 2008 – Resident Evil 5 hands-on impressions

Published by Joey

In a private meeting with Capcom today, we were given the chance to try out Resident Evil 5 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As everybody knows, the immensely popular Resident Evil 4 was given several “Game of the Year” awards from many prominent gaming critics back when it first came out in 2005. The sequel to RE4 takes the radical changes found in that game and enhances them even further to create a title that looks and plays just beautifully.
