The Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force is warning parents that pedophiles could be using Animal Crossing: City Folk to contact their children, according to one sensationalist news program.

“There is no reason an adult should have this game,” says Andy Anderson, Mid-Missouri Internet Crimes Task Force.

Anderson says adults playing “Animal Crossing” and similar games are likely doing it for the wrong reasons.

Are you offended yet? Of course, Tanooki readers are bright enough to know that there are plenty of adults who enjoy playing kid-friendly games like Animal Crossing simply because they’re fun. They also probably already know something that Mr. Anderson appears to be (perhaps intentionally) missing. It’s impossible to play Animal Crossing: City Folk online with anyone you haven’t already been in contact with long enough to exchange friend codes. It doesn’t exactly seem like the ideal cruising ground for child preditors, does it?

Really, this post is just an excuse to post an Animal Crossing picture with Pedobear in it.
