E-Tanks on sale in Japan during August

The casings may not be as authentic as those limited edition Final Fantasy potions you see in the fancy bottles, but that doesn’t take away the awesome-factor here. Mega Man 9’s promotional campaign just got an energy boost from these new energy drinks! The Rockman E-Tank Sports Drink will be on sale in Japan all this month for ¥137 in all major convenience stores.

That’s roughly $1.25 in the US… so it’s about the same as your typical vending machine bottle, and far less than anything at Six Flags. Someone import a case and send it to Matt for his special day today.

“Gotta catch ‘em all” applies to Nintendo handhelds, too

Starting today (erm, yesterday now…), fanatics in North America can pick a special, new, Pokemon-themed Onyx DS Lite. No, it doesn’t have the Pokemon, Onyx, on it. It’s that Dialga and Palkia one Pete showed you a while back.

It’s not a GameStop exclusive, so anywhere you find it, you’ll be able to get a Dialga and Palkia carrying case, collectible mini-poster, and the never-before-released Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness animated special on DVD as part of the $129.99 bundle. If you don’t mind Pokemon on your DS, that’s a steal of a bundle right there.

Of course, you’re probably also waiting for the DS Lite with Giratina on it. All the cool kids are.

Duck Hunt plaque: Who’s laughing now?

Published by Christian

This lovely piece was created by the talented Eric Tan for this year’s I Am 8-bit Exhibit in Hollywood. After several hours of drilling, bending, sculpting, masking, sanding, priming, and painting, along with cases of resin dust inhalation and a paint-in-eye incident, this 3D trophy plaque can be yours if the price is right!

Actually, I’m lying, it’s not up for sale at the moment. The fourth annual exhibit takes place August 18th, so be sure to look for this one if you’re checking out the event. Take a peek after the break for a photo of the full piece.

If you live for Nintendo? Why not die for Nintendo?

What would you like on your tombstone? Better yet, what would you like on your coffin? Not that I enjoy thinking about death or anything (I’m not weird like that), but if you want to go out in style, you could entertain those attending your funeral with a little bit of casket decoration.

Obviously, the Super NES controller is the one we’ll mention here, but there are iPhone, Windows Vista, Grand Theft Auto IV, and Halo 3 designs for those of you less enthusiastic about Nintendo.

I don’t know. I guess if all your friends fall into the “geek” category, this would be somewhat cool. As for me? I wouldn’t be caught dead in one of those things. (Har har.)

Catch ‘em all with your BK Kids Meal

Published by Christian

They’re still making Pokemon: TCG cards, and they’re still selling them by the truckload. For those of you still into collecting those cards, Burger King is giving away one card (out of a dozen) AND one Pokemon toy with each Kids Meal. I going to have to head on over to BK myself - that Mantyke plushie is as good as mine.
