The September 2008 issue of Nintendo Power has been received by the masses, and we now have some solid details on Sonic and the Black Knight. By “some,” I mean a freakin’ ton of new information can be found after the break, with much of it straight from the magazine. The game seems to carry a lot over from Secret Rings, which makes sense considering it’s the same development team. At the same time, there are several new game mechanics that might both excite you and worry you.
At the same time, the team is well aware of how the series has stumbled as of late, and they’re making sure they’re doing right by the series. Awesome, now lets shoot some ballistas.

Scans do NOT do this game justice. Four grainy screens are after the break, though you might consider restraining yourself if you’ve been spoiled by all the HD versions from the PS3 game. We definitely need some direct feed screens right away to get a better feel for how Sonic Unleashed really looks on the Wii as opposed to the other platforms, but rest assured - Sonic’s model and environments are clearly above and beyond those in Sonic and the Secret Rings.

The latest Nintendo Power magazine - presumably the same one that gave us Mega Man 9 and Castlevania: Judgement - claims the fun isn’t over yet. The above teaser says that we’ll be getting our first look at a top secret new game in the next issue, and Square Enix/Disney fans have been quick to notice certain key hint words:
We’ll kick off the next 20 years of Nintendo Power with more big reveals, including a top-secret cover story fit for a KING. It’s got a lot of HEART. Just kidding. It’s Mother 3. Just kidding. Please look forward to it.
Could it be a new Kingdom Hearts for Wii? It’s a possibility, but one consensus is that the second hint refers to the recent KH3 rumors and playfully shoots it down with the Jay-Kay. That, and the KH team has its hands tied at the moment.
There is, however, one more clue. The image after the break has fan speculation swirling about either The Legend of Zelda or Golden Sun for the Wii. Check it out!
