Here’s a few screencaps from an upcoming, unofficial Doom mod, all based on the Megaman series. The game, entitled Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch, will feature only textures and sprites from the original Megaman games, except completely in the third dimension. Creator CutmanMike plans to eventually have all the levels and weapons from the first six games incorporated, with the possibility of adding content from Megaman 9. An alpha version is available for download, though its worth noting that much of the content will likely change before the game is officially finished.

I for one think this could be very fun. Some people may not like it, but I’m fascinated with the current trend of 8-bit going 3D. Now if I can just wrap my head around the concept of Megaman in a death match mode!

I love the idea of having a password locked flash drive. However, its entirely too grown up for me. My files consist of animated gifs of cats injuring themselves, or photos of naked celebrities. I’m not Ethan Hunt or Doogie Howser. I don’t own the Sword Of A Thousand Truths. I just don’t have anything worth protecting.

But this is a fun spin on a common project nonetheless. You can find dozens if not hundreds of flash drives constructed from old gaming gear, but one that’s password protected by the Konami Code? You my friend might have just won the Internet.

If you don’t mind completely voiding your warranty, you may be able to get a North American DSi that matches your Wii after all. One company has started offering replacement DSi cases (as in the hard plastic exterior of your DSi) in a not-so-wide variety of colors. They currently come in white, black, and the above pictured “crystal,” which looks pretty awesome. Also shown on the site is a DS Lite case that enables overclocking, which means you can increase the running speed of your DS games. Check out XCM’s site for more pictures.
