Helping to fuel the recent explosion of hype surrounding Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Konami has released some trailers of the game, including the above trailer featuring the game’s Monster Hunter crossover. Past the break, you can check out additional trailers – albeit, with a little less humor – including the game’s opening movie and a tactical espionage operation trailer.

Jean-Pierre Treiber, 45, escaped from a high-security prison in Auxerre, France by hiding inside a box he had built. The double murder suspect – who has consistently claimed innocence – was loaded with several other boxes onto a truck for delivery to the Yonne region southeast of Paris and about 100 miles away. Treiber leapt from the truck without the driver noticing.

As you know, this kind of stealth tactic was made famous in our circle thanks to the Metal Gear Solid series. Who knew it was actually a legitimate method of sneaking around? Go figure.

Even though some individuals hope that Snake’s latest offering can de-throne the Big-N as king of this generation, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.  While Sony managed to sell an impressive 139,494 PS3s for the month of June, it was no match for the 235,990 Wiis sold.  While Metal Gear made the sales gap smaller for both consoles, it looks like Sony will have to bring more to the table if they hope to topple Nintendo.
