Slammed Again: Nintendo sued for patent infringment
Looks like the patent squatters are at it again! This time they are taking a stab at collecting some of that newly printed money from the Nintendo DS. A man named John R. Martin has stated that Nintendo has stolen his touch screen and pointing device gaming technology patent in August, 2005.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the Nintendo DS actually came out before this patent was filed. And is it me, or does this picture look like one of them “old-school” sewing machines, or like the orignal Donkey Kong cabinets? I have no idea how John R. can possibly win this one.

Almost two years ago, Anascape, Ltd. sued Nintendo of America for patent infringement of Anascape’s game controller design. Nintendo lost that lawsuit last month for evidence against the GameCube controller, WaveBird, and Wii Classic controller designs and was ordered to pay $21 million. Nintendo hoped to appeal the decision and lower the amount they would have to pay Anascape, but they were denied a few days ago, and will have to pay the $21m.
