No more retail game listings as the source of fan’s eager information. Activision themselves have officially announced Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, and it’s going to be big. The game will introduce over 90 new tracks to players, will offering the entire library of Guitar Hero tracks. That’s over 500 songs!

As mentioned, the game will feature a new quest mode narrated by Gene Simmons from KISS. There’s also the new Quickplay + mode, which introduces a range of challenges available on all over the songs, past and present.

“Guitar Hero has set the standard for music based gaming and with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and the game’s all-new Quest Mode, robust and authentic set list, over-the-top challenges and rock-inspired new hardware, we are once again bringing the soul and energy of rock n’ roll to fans around the world,” said David Haddad, Chief Operating Officer, Guitar Hero.

Like clockwork, the latest music title from Activision has been announced for release this fall. Instead of a press release however, it was discovered on Amazon (I love the twenty-first century). Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, will release on all major consoles, in both software and bundle form, on September 21st.

The game is said to ditch celebrity playable characters for a more raw, Rock ‘N’ Roll feel. Gene Simmons from KISS is said to make an appearance in the game, as narrator of the new quest mode. Other rock legends, including Queen, are also to be featured as part of the title’s soundtrack.

Other details haven’t been released, but there is that E3 thing happening in June people keep talking about. We’ll keep you posted.

Fans of Gene Simmons, 80s rock, and men in makeup will be happy to know that the KISS Track Pack is officially headed to Guitar Hero 5 and the newly released Band Hero.  Tracks “Modern Day Delilah,” “I Was Made For Lovin’ You” and the classic “Lick It Up” are included in the pack.

In celebration of all things KISS, the band also announced that they’ll be streaming their Wednesday November 25th concert from the Staples Center at 9PST online. Fans can catch the concert from a Ustream link via the KISS Facebook page.

The KISS Track Pack is available now on Xbox LIVE (440 Microsoft Points), PSN ($5.49) and Wii Shop Channel (500 Nintendo Points).
