Sorry, DirecTV subscribers. G4 has announced a deal that will make the cable network the exclusive home of any and all E3 coverage for the next 3 years. G4, owned by Comcast Entertainment, will continue to broadcast live from the showroom floor, bringing the biggest gaming reveals, the exciting keynote speeches and any other whimsical gaming related Cirque events that may happen.

Through 2013, the usual suspects of Kevin Pereira, Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb and Blair Herter will be on-hand to bring you all the new gaming goodness, promising 24 hours of live programming during expo.

“LOS ANGELES, November XX, 2010 – G4 and the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) today announced a three-year deal naming the network the official broadcaster for the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo) through 2013. With this media partnership, G4’s team of gaming experts and popular on-air talent, including Adam Sessler, Morgan Webb, Kevin Pereira and Blair Herter, will bring viewers an unprecedented look inside the computer and video game industry’s biggest event with the high caliber coverage of the most important names in video games.

With over 24 total hours of LIVE broadcast coverage featuring exclusive news and original programming, as well as live-streaming events on g4tv.com, G4 will deliver the most extensive E3 Expo coverage and give gaming enthusiasts all the information and news they crave year after year.

G4 has consistently served as one of the only networks to gear their programming to the nerd, tech-enthusiast and gamer in all of us. Unfortunately for DirecTV customers, those days are gone.

Starting today, November 1, the satellite provided dropped the G4 network for their lineup of programming. Despite negotiations that aimed to extend the contract deal the network had with DirecTV for the past three years, an extension could not be reached.

Despite your personal opinions of G4′s daily programming, many of you depend on the network for their exclusive broadcasting rights of live events such as E3, CES, Comicon and other expos. Capcom has announced that on May 6th, the day of my precious birth, the company will host a Lost Planet 2 launch event in Los Angeles, hosted by TV host and actress Olivia Munn. The “Lost Planet 2: Kill Big for Charity” event will serve as the finale for Capcom’s month long charity campaign.

Earlier this month, Capcom promised to donate $25,000 to Music for Relief if the multiplayer demo for Lost Planet 2 reached 1 million downloads across PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. For every 500,000 downloaded over 1 million, Capcom agreed to pay an additional $5,000. Currently, Capcom is still urging gamers to help them reach the million mark.

Munn will host the event next week, which will include a celebrity tournament where the winning team will proudly pick the charity of their choice to donate to, in association with Music for Relief.

The event will take place on Thursday May 6th, from 8pm to midnight. Capcom is encouraging all fans to attend the event, and to support the cause. They’re also offering a trip to LA, as well as a chance to compete in the star studded tournament. For more information, visit the link below.

G4′s programming is surely geared to the nerd in all of us, but it’s their flagship show X-Play that we’ve all turned to when in need of a gaming fix, that is outside of our consoles and that Inter-web-net thingy. Today, X-Play reaches its 1000th episode, and to celebrate G4 will be hosting a 6 hour marathon of some of the greatest episodes and moments in the show’s history.

Additionally, hosts Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb will be celebrating with “celebrity gaming guests” and I’m sure a few surprises. The 1000th episode will begin airing at 6PM ET.

The marathon fun begins at 1PM ET/PT on G4.

Appearing on G4′s Attack of the Show to promote Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time,  Webb claimed that the game has a more expanded audience than Mario Galaxy.  Webb continued, Super Mario Galaxy is aimed so much at kids that it’s insulting for an adult to play. Wow.

The conversation started when Webb and co-host Blair Herter discussed the fading action platformer as a dying genre, saying only Galaxy, although inferior, was the only other recent title in that genre. The interview is above, and the conversation boils my blood starts around the 2:15 mark.
