Friday Night Concerts: “Liberi Fatali” – Voices concert

For this week’s edition of Friday Night Concerts, I’ve decided to dig up something from the Final Fantasy series. The above video is supposedly from the Voices – Music from Final Fantasy 2006 concert, a concert held at the Pacifico Yokohoma Conference and Convention Center back on February 18th of that year. That concert and this particular piece were performed by the Prima Vista Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Arnie Roth. There’s an official DVD of the concert floating around, so you might want to track it down if you love Final Fantasy music.

Anyway, this video is of “Liberi Fatali,” the epic piece from Final Fantasy VIII. I’m actually hoping to hear it live when I check out the Distant Worlds concert in less than a month, so I’m crossing my fingers that it’s on the setlist. There’s already at least one FFVIII piece that will be performed, in the form of “The Man With The Machine Gun.”
