DS Media downloads become a reality in Japan

While there has been a population of Nintendo DS players that have been watching movies, reading books or viewing pictures using “unconventional” means, Nintendo is finally providing an official way to purchase media on the go. Starting tomorrow (7/3) at 12:00 AM, Japanese users will be able to download novels, comics, and videos with the DSvision kit. Unfortunately, the 512 MB microSD card that is included with the DS adapter is essential to the service, and standard cards will not work. This pretty much throws out the possibility of obtaining a 32 GB microSD for almost limitless portable storage.
Well, considering that Nintendo hasn’t fixed our Nintendo Wii storage problem, I wonder what is going to happen once everybody’s 512 MB is up? I guess they will have to purchase more “special” Nintendo cards, hopefully they won’t cost an arm and a leg.
