I’ve had a fascination with all things gun-related and shiny lately, so this Conduit-themed Wii case mod is giving me the oohs and ahhs. Plus, it lights up. And there’s video. This is an ADD kid’s wet dream.

Anyone play The Conduit yet? I’m in an FPS kind of mood but I’m having to choose my purchases carefully. There’s only so much of my credit line to go around. What did you think?

Hmmm, this is either really cool, or really disturbing. THeOReos, over at Instructables, has uploaded pictures and instructions on how to take your innocent-looking Wii Remote, bypass the whole Wii Zapper concoction, and turn it into what’s essentially a Zapper in an MP5 shell.

Dubbed the “WeeP 5 Advanced Zapper” (pronounced Wii-Pee-Five), this Wii Remote mod essentially fits the Wii Remote to the airsoft MP5 gun rather than the other way around. It basically means that if you want to make this yourself, you’re going to have to essentially butcher the Wii Remote and stick the buttons and wiring onto convenient locations on the gun.

Now, while this is great for all those traditional shooters that utilize the Wii Zapper (such as RE: The Umbrella Chronicles, CoD: World at War, and Medal of Honor), I’m pretty sure the original Zapper accompanied a game with a wooden crossbow-bearing Hylian on the box. Someone want to get on that?

Here’s something that showed up in my inbox not too long ago. DHRECK decided that the cold, sleek, white plastic exterior of the Wii Remote wasn’t exactly welcoming, so a few saws, lighters, some sandpaper, glue, and a ball of hemp later, we have what DHRECK dubs the “Hemp-mote.” An impressive mod, to say the least.

It turned out the whole thing wasn’t very practical for playing – the outer shell is now very fragile, and the hemp itself is extremely sensitive to sweat and skin oils. DHRECK’s hemp-mote is, as a result, probably now beginning its life as a shelf display. Nevertheless, should you want to replicate the process or simply admire the tremendous amount of effort poured into the mod, head on past the break to catch a few more glimpses, or check out DHRECK’s site for more!

When I was a kid I loved two things: My NES and Lego’s. Well what do we have here — a Nintendo case made entirely of Lego’s?! After going through various stages of development, Project Red is finally complete and is fully equipped with everything the original NES had. In the video above you can see it in action, playing a copy of Super Mario Bros. 3. I just wish he had chosen a better track for the video.

How in the galaxy did I miss this? Ramon Stokes’ latest creation (following his Zelda Wii, Zelda DS, Metroid Wii, Rockstar Wii, and Clerks Wii) completed this past April is the highly anticipated Super Mario Galaxy-themed Wii he promised some months back. I’m so late to the party that I didn’t even get to post about the record-breaking auction for it.

Are modders running out of ideas? They’re sticking NES consoles inside NES cartridges now, apparently. I guess the Classic NES edition of the GBA SP with all those Classic NES series games wasn’t adequate enough. My only real concern, though, is where the start and select buttons are. There’s no sense in portable if you have to complete every game you start in one sitting!

Nothin’ like a good, quality Wii case mod going up for charity auction. Joe_a84 is putting his hand-painted, The Incredible Hulk Wii up for auction, and it’s already at $255 with over three days left. Guess we’ve got some comic fans out there.

100 hours of work was put in towards the case mod, from which a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. You also get The Incredible Hulk game for the Wii thrown in for good measure. Be sure to check out some pics of the mod after the break!

What do you do when you find a Nintendo 64 at a yard sale for a buck? Mod it, of course! j grayson constructed this special Nintendo 64 after finding the system for $1 and deciding to fuse it with this TIE Fighter toy lying around in his basement. The result? A Star Wars and Nintendo fan’s dream console – at least until someone mods a Wii into the Millennium Falcon. *ahem*
