Combining killer stitching skills and artistic interpretation, these were made by Michele Legendre of the aptly named Deadly Sweet Plushes. There were almost too many amazing and squeezably cute creations to share, so I’ve added a bunch to our gallery below. My favorite? Probably Chun-Li, but Protoman makes for serious competition. Ur, uh, I mean the tanooki ones of course!

Here’s another one for all you papercraft fans. Personally, I don’t know that I’d like to have Bowser sitting on my desk greeting people, but you have to admit that this model of Bowser is actually pretty darn good. It was designed by Brandon while the model pictured was “test built” by Fezco. If you’re interested in building one for yourself you can download them at Nintendo Papercrafts.

This piece is called Steamboat Mario and was made by Dan Helle as an entry in a video game character inspired art show. I’m impressed! Bowser’s face looks just like Pete! Peach is lookin’ a little Olive Oil-ish and I’ve yet to identify what’s coming out of the hem of her dress, but its awesome nonetheless!

I love all those dedicated geekcrafters out there. I knew there was already a well established community of My Little Pony modders, but this is the first time I’ve seen a rubber duckie customized to a game-theme. What a perfect gift for that kid in your life…you know, the one you hate!

Minimalist interpretations of our most favorite and beloved geek icons have been all the rage on the ‘Net lately, and these images made by InfiniteContinues are my favorite example. Inspired by a recent set of Star Wars minimalist posters (you may have seen ‘em), the artist set out to create a bare bones portrait of various video game characters, from Samus Aran to T-Hawk.

Which is your favorite? Which would you like to see? I’m a big fan of the Samus Aran one but I’d love to see a print inspired by Legend of Zelda, Pikmin, or Final Fantasy. Or Pac Man, even. Just a yellow piece of paper with a line through it.

With all the chaos The Tanooki has been through these past few days, we’ve had no time to get festivities started properly! We need to Halloween it up in here. And what better way than with these pumpkins featuring the likeness of Nintendo superstars.

There are tons (literally, ha) of Nintendo pumpkins online, but I like these ones in particular because they feature a portrait of Shigeru Miyamoto, creator and…fuggit, I don’t need to tell you who he is. Thanks to his cult status online he’s now as recognizable as Mario himself. Take it in folks. It’s probably the first and last time you’ll ever see a pumpkin with a portrait of a  middle aged Japanese man.

I’m not a Russian doll fan per se (the idea of dolls eating dolls eating dolls terrified me as a child) but if I could have these Mario themed ones, I think I would be.

Actually, I have some near my bathroom sink, but they’re a set of Orcas a coworker gave me as a present *cough* from leftover display inventory at the gift shop where we worked. Yeah. They’re not exactly special. In fact, that’s probably why they’ve been exiled to the sink. I’m secretly hoping the water damage will let them die a slow and wood-warped death.

I’d treat these ones really nice, though. One more pic after the jump.
