This Dark Link statue is worth every rupee

The folks at First 4 Figures have created several timeless statues, with pieces including Samus, Link, and Sonic the Hedgehog. Based on images of their newest creation, they may have outdone themselves. The company has announced a brand new statue of one of Link’s Ocarina of Time adversaries, Dark Link.

Dark Link battled our beloved Hero of Time in a large pool of water residing at the Water Temple. This 12-inch tall statue captures the shadowy foe flawlessly, with an exceptional amount of detail included in every aspect.

The statue will be sold in two models, a regular version and an “exclusive” model featuring red glowing eyes, and four pulsating lights that dazzle the surrounding water. The exclusive model will be available for $190, but is limited to just 500 pieces while the standard edition will be sold for $170, with 2,500 units available. Assuming you’ve got enough rupees in your wallet, this is a hard item for any Zelda fan to pass up when they debut later this year.

This Piranha Plant scarf will keep you piping hot

This definitely falls into the “why didn’t I think of this?” category.

This crocheted masterpiece was created by Crafster user “Enemy Airship” of California, designed to resemble the treacherous Piranha Plant from the Super Mario Bros. franchise — as if you didn’t know.

Although this item is no longer available to purchase in her Etsy shop, Enemy Airship is allowing users to message her to obtain the scarf’s pattern. Isn’t that sweet?

Papercraft designs of the Tron: Legacy lightcycles

Need a small project to keep you busy while you wait for the new year? How about some arts & crafts?

The links below have designs you can download to make the above models, based on Clu 2.0′s lightcycle (left) from Tron: Legacy and Kevin Flynn’s second generation lightcycle, also from Legacy but reminiscent of the first film’s lightcycle design. As a fan of papercraft, here’s a small, additional challenge for you: The wheels on both of these models aren’t actually round, but with a rather simple modification, you can make them round (or pretty close to it).

I was randomly browsing Flickr just now, and came across this adorable cooking apron created by Christine McClellan. Everything you see above was made as a Christmas present for her neighbor’s son, hat included! I just had to get this up before turning in for the night.

More papercraft for today! This particular template is based off of the Yoshi model used in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. From the looks of it, this a pretty big model… but don’t try and squeeze it just because it looks cute — it’s still a hollow paper shell!

This doesn’t really have a lot to do with the holidays, but hey — the holidays are a good time to mingle in arts and crafts, are they not? If you’ve got some patience, a set of nimble fingers, and an affinity for DNA Pokémon, this could be the perfect project for you!

You can follow the link below to Paperkraft.net, where you can download the print-out, print out said print-out, and create your own Speed Forme of Deoxys out of paper. Unfortunately, that’s all you get — no changing forms when exposing it to meteorites. Sigh.

Swedish Ice Hotel gets a Tron makeover

A hotel constructed out of ice in north Sweden is a marvelous sight on its own. Still, it just isn’t cool enough. Of course, giving an entire room of the hotel a Tron: Legacy makeover is definitely cool.

The aptly named Swedish Ice Hotel now features a suite that showcases the signature blue lighting effects of Tron in the hotel’s “Legacy of the River” suite. Created by extreme design team and inspired by the Disney film, the suite’s upgraded look marks the first time in the hotel’s 20-year history that such lighting technology has ever been used.

If Disney went to a bar, found Nintendo, and the two crazy kids got drunk and had a one night stand, and then Disney found out she was pregnant with Nintendo’s baby, it would look like this image.

The above pic seen on DeviantART uses Mickey Mouse’s iconic 1920′s cartoon, Steamboat Willie, as inspiration to create this epic Super Mario artwork. The creativity behind this hybrid photo is so inspiring, I’m now desperate for it to become an actual game. A black and white Mario platformer with hints of color in the simplistically upbeat hand-drawn 20s art style.

Pac-Man cupcakes more delicious than pac-dots

After 30 years of eating every pac-dot and blue-turned ghost in sight, I think it’s time Pac-Man deserved an icing-filled taste of his own medicine.

I made these gems for a class project, but based on the warm reception I received, exclamations like “adorable!” and “delicious!” to name a few, I decided they were worth sharing. Visually, at least.

I assure you, Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde never tasted this good.

Celebrating 30 years as one of the industry’s leading icons, Pac-Man sure has lost his Homer-yellow hue, now washed away into a sea of wrinkly despair.

Looking like an oddity out of Sick Sad World, this spherical disaster is truly frightening. Seriously though, what the hell is that? A past-due orange? A tadpole fetus? Tell me what you think in the comments.

Sure, we all know Yoshi is quite the adorable mascot. He’s likely the most lovable of all the Mushroom Kingdom’s inhabitants. That is of course, if you don’t count his younger malnourished self.

Baby Yoshi, the lovable under-developed hatchling definietly takes top cuteness prize. This perler bead creation of the little guy, in multiple colors, is a must have for any Super Mario World fan. At the fair price of $2 per Yosh, it’s truly a small price to pay for something so precious.

They’re cute, they’re rubber, they’re colorful as hell, and they’re not just for girls anymore. Hasbro’s My Little Pony toys have long since been marketed towards a more feminine crowd, but some newly modded ponies are setting out to conquer the hearts of boys everywhere.

As seen on Gear Fuse, these video game influenced ponies are the perfect custom toys for boys and girls alike. Here are a bunch for your viewing pleasure, with ponies influenced by games like Halo, The Legend of Zelda and Silent Hill.
