Back during E3, we showed off early prototype models of PDP’s impressive line of Disney’s Tron and Disney Epic Mickey gaming controllers and charging docks. Now, the accessory developer is ready to show off the final builds, matched with stellar collectors packaging.

Included are both galleries below, one for Tron and the other for Disney Epic Mickey. The Tron gallery includes the blue light emitting controllers for Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles, and their respective packaging. The Epic Mickey gallery features the paintbrush Nunchuk attachment, as well as the Ink Blot and Mickey Wii Remote charger. Both sets of products are only available for a limited time, starting this November.

I implore you to check out both galleries to see just how Epic these creations are.

YES! The answer to the glorious question asked in our headline is yes. A leak to Destructoid reveals that Activision is releasing a special edition Goldeneye gun shell for the nunchuk combined gold classic controller, all for $70 at GameStop.

Question is, is this a game bundle, or just the accessories? Frankly, I couldn’t care less, I’d pay $70 for the novelty alone. That gun shell is freakin’ bad ass.

Last week, I got my hands on Nyko’s exciting new lineup of products. It’s always great to see what new gaming items will enter the marketplace, so I can report back and let you all know what to look out for. First, Nyko’s most anticipated product is called the Raven, a new wireless PS3 controller.

The Raven is covered in a black Soft Touch finish that offers a much better grip than many other shiny plastic, smooth-finish controllers on the market. It improves your hold, eliminating that whole gross sweaty, slippery nonsense.

The most unique feature of the Raven is that it comes in two different configurations. There’s the standard configuration (pictured above) and then the alternate configuration, pictured in our gallery below. The alternate swaps the left analog stick with the position of the D-pad, as some gamers prefer this setup. As you’ll notice, the D-pad is a far cry from the Xbox 360′s critically panned directional pad, something Nyko kept in mind when creating it.

The Raven feels great, and is extremely light to the touch. It will also boast a 25 hour battery life. Overall, I was very impressed by what the Raven is bringing to the table. It’s a well constructed, worth-while controller option for PS3 owners. And based on the line of people waiting to try this bad boy out at the Nyko booth, you may want to consider preording. You can get your hands on the Raven starting on July 27th, for $35.

Also new from Nyko this year are two PlayStation Move charging docks. The Charge Station for Move holds two Move (or Navigation) controllers and features glowing rings to indicate the charge status. The shape of the dock base nicely compliments the unique sphere and cylinder shapes of the Move itself. The second charger, the Charge Station Quad for Move is a compact, sleek flat-panel charger that holds 4 Move (or Navigation) controllers. Both chargers use AC power, a decision made so that charging would be faster and eliminate the need for extra wires being directed to your console. Both chargers will be available this October, for $20 and $30, respectively.

And adding to Nyko’s impressive array of colored Wii Wand controllers, the company is introducing a new retro gray — think NES color — to their Wand Plus lineup. For $40, Wand Plus includes the Wii MotionPlus functionality, built in to the remote itself. It’s a great new color, especially if you plan on using the controller horizontally for your retro gaming on the Wii. It will bring you back to the days of Duck Tales and Marble Madness in no time. That same gray color will also make an appearance for the Kama (Wireless Nunchuk) and likely the Raven controller as well.

Overall, Nyko is introducing a bunch of new products for fans of all consoles. Some other products I didn’t get to test out are the Type Pad Pro for Wii, The Core Controller for PS3 and the new Xbox 360 Speaker Com. All of these products are featured in our gallery below. For more product information, visit Nyko’s official site below.

We’re one step closer to a portable PlayStation 3. The Hori HD LCD Monitor 3 will be released in Japan next month, allowing gamers to snap the display onto the top of the PS3, plug it into the PS3 using an AV Multi Terminal socket, and gaming anywhere… at least, anywhere there’s a power outlet. You’ll still need to plug in both the PS3 and the monitor using a pair of AC adapters.

The screen itself is an impressive 11.6″-wide display weighing only 860g (just under two pounds) and includes a stereo speaker and two headphone jacks. The device will be released in Japan on May 27th for ¥26,040 (which amounts to a little over US$275).

Although the inside may just be a standard set of shelves, the cabinet itself is shaped like a Wii Remote!

The front features the full image decal of the Wii Remote, making this look like the most fun to play with storage cabinet around. Aside from having to basically shove your gaming essentials into the cubbyholes until the door closes, I applaud the creator’s artistic efforts.

Since this was just discovered via the Interwebs, there’s no purchasing information. But the work of art may just be an inspiration for you to create your own custom storage cabinet.

How do you keep you Wii accessories organized? I have this small piece of furniture that ever since I was in college, we could never figure out what it was really for. It was too small to be a table, wasn’t shaped to be a stool or chair, and too tall to be an ottoman… but the top came off and we could store all our crap inside.

You probably don’t have whatever it is that I have, so you might be intrigued by this W-Station storage rack for the Wii made by Nakamura. It has a place for everything, including a slot for the Wii Balance Board, a hook for your Wii Wheel, and a retractable deck for the Wii itself, allowing you to easily access the GC controller ports when needed. Speaking of the GameCube, this entire contraption has carrying handles!

It’s only available in Japan starting April 12th for ¥11,800 (white) or ¥7,980 (brown), but you’ll probably be able to import it somewhere. I’m hesitant though… the talking Wii Balance Board in Wii Fit Plus yelled at me for storing the balance board vertically…

Well, now that I’ve gotten my Power Glove reference out of the way, it’s time to get down to business – Iron Will Innovations has officially launched their new glove peripheral, the Peregrine. Unlike Power Glove, Peregrine looks to have gotten things right – touch one of three points on the thumb to one of five points on any finger, and the Peregrine sends the appropriate command to your computer. The glove itself is made of breathable fabric, and is hand-washable – the electronics for the device are all housed in a small pod which magnetically attaches to the glove to receive sensor data. Magnetic attachment means that the pod simply breaks away rather than snapping the cable when you hop out of your chair to get a burrito. The device behaves as a standard HID Keyboard, giving it the benefit of cross-platform compatibility as well as maximizing software compatibility. Heck, I wouldn’t mind having one just to use inside Creative Suite. All in all, it’s nice to see a concept that was once the laughing-stock of the peripheral world making another go at it, armed with years of technological advances as well as reflection upon the failures of the past. Peregrine is available now for $149.99.

The Peregrine

PALO ALTO, Calif. and LLOYDMINSTER, Alberta – April 1, 2010

Iron Will Innovations today announced the official launch of the Peregrine: a wearable glove that allows users to control their favorite games just by touching their fingers together. The innovative gaming peripheral retails for $149.99 and can be ordered directly fromhttp://www.ThePeregrine.com/ – the company began shipping gloves to fulfill the overwhelming demand for pre-orders today.

“With countless hours of product testing and testimonials by professional gamers, we are proud to announce that PC users have a new tool in their arsenal to best their opponents,” said Brent Baier, CEO of Iron Will Innovations, the think tank founded to bring revolutionary products like The Peregrine to life. “The Peregrine is a game-changer. No more scrambling for keyboard commands during intense battles, just pure unadulterated destruction to get that win.”

The Peregrine is sleek and easy to use. The glove is form-fitting, rugged and hand-washable, and functions with standard keyboard drivers on all operating systems. Gamers can plug the glove in and start playing immediately, or use the software for in-depth customization. Users simply touch their thumb or palm to any of the 18 TouchPoints on the tips and joints of their fingers to perform more than 30 programmable actions.

Anyone who orders the Peregrine will gain access to The Summit – a special members-only section of the website with tips from pro gamers, new key maps for the latest games, and more.

Snakebyte has announced a new replacement for your tired old first-party Wiimote. Dubbed the Remote XL+, the controller looks pretty similar to your standard white Wiimote, but without that silly MotionPlus accessory sticking off the bottom. That’s right, the controller has MotionPlus built right in, just as so many have suggested Nintendo should have considered. Additionally, the XL+ has an inbuilt rechargeable battery pack designed to charge off of USB or with Snakebyte’s forthcoming Flux Duo induction charger. Additionally, a wireless nunchuk clone known as Motion XL+ will cram MotionPlus into the wireless receiver. It all sounds good, but who knows how third-party MotionPlus replacements will compare to the real thing. If you happen to be in Europe, you can snag these for 50€ (Remote XL+) and 30€ (Motion XL+) come January 15.

Snakebyte – Wii Products

Snakebyte’s sweeping blow for the beginning of the year

Less is more: The brand-new XL+ Wii accessory series and their own web shop take off

Boundless play

The new snakebyte XL+ series turns the classic accessory concept upside down. While the classic accessories are built to complement existing features with hardware additives, snakebyte Europe, famous for qualitative and innovative accessories for consoles, handhelds and PC, now turns the tables. Instead of complementing the Wii Remote with attachments, snakebyte implements the attachment! With other words: Wii Motion Plus is built right into the new Remote XL+. Without any construction, no new silicon cases, just activate the remote and get started. But with the integration of Motion Plus the innovation isn’t at its end: integrated batteries, which can be charged directly via USB, are also included in the “all-around carefree package”. An external Sync-button makes sure that the Wii Remote does not have to be dismantled to be able to sign in.

The Remote XL+ will be available commercially from the 15th January 2010 for a price of 49.99€ (RRP).

We also have a solution for the ones who already have a Wii Remote and just want to upgrade it, true to the motto “less is more”. The Motion XL+ is a wireless Nunchuck. Therefore any cable connection to the Wii remote is dropped. The new freedom is furthermore complemented by the Motion Plus feature which is integrated in the receiver. So whoever is on the search for a wireless Nunchuck, will simply get an additional Motion Plus without having to purchase it additively.

The Motion XL+ will be available commercially from the 15th January 2010 for a price of 29.99€ (RRP).

The simplicity of charging

To enable a related accessory system, the way of charging the batteries has been newly conceived: The Flux Duo Induction Charger receives entry into the living room with its “wireless charging”. The Wii Remotes are charged via modern induction technology, by basically laying them into the charging pod. The troublesome act of removing the silicon sleeves is therefore dropped, because the Flux Duo charges also with “rubber”. Two induction batteries for snakebyte and Nintendo Wii remotes are already included in the set.

The Flux Duo Induction Charger will be available commercially from the 15th January 2010 for a price of 29.99€ (RRP).

It’s crazy accessory time again! Performance Designed Products has released their Big Oversized Super Shell (B.O.S.S.), a plastic shell that surrounds your Wiimote in an attempt to make it more comfortable to use for New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Since the B.O.S.S. is merely a cover, its oversized D-pad and oversized/repositioned A/B buttons merely provide a physical link to the existing Wiimote controls. This sort of interface has never worked particularly well in my experience, but I’d still be willing to give the B.O.S.S. a try for my collection of Virtual Console titles. Four colors are available in case the Wiimote’s LEDs aren’t enough to delineate your controllers during those late-night multiplayer sessions. It seems these have been available for a while, but with NSMBW out now, PDP seems to be pushing them – a logical plan given my tense, controller-clutching NSMBW experiences. Until the Classic Controller Pro comes stateside, the B.O.S.S. is available now for $9.99.

Performance Designed Products

Show Your Wii Remote Who’s B.O.S.S.

Wii attachment by PDP enhances gaming experience, makes great stocking stuffer

Los Angeles – Enhance your “New Super Mario Bros. Wii” experience with the new B.O.S.S. Controller from Performance Designed Products (PDP), a top gaming accessory provider. With a suggested retail price of only $9.99, the controller makes a great stocking stuffer.

The B.O.S.S. Controller, which stands for Big Oversized Super Shell, is a plastic grip that clips securely on top of a Wii remote. It features enlarged action buttons and an enlarged D-pad that are activated by pass-through mechanisms.

The controller provides a better ergonomic shape when the Wii remote is being used as a classic controller, and retains that “classic feel” that ties into the nostalgia of Super Mario Bros. The controller is perfect for the upcoming “New Super Mario Bros. Wii,” “Super Mario Kart Wii” and “Punch Out Wii,” as well as all Nintendo virtual console games. It is available in four Super Mario Bros.-themed colors (red, green, blue and yellow) to help support collectability and four-player co-op play.

Wiimote charging solutions have become one of the go-to products for accessory manufacturers, it seems, and today’s announcement by Thrustmaster does nothing to prove otherwise. Newly released are two charging solutions – an induction charger for two ‘motes built into a massive Wii stand known as the T-Charge Stand Contactless+ NW and a ‘four player charger’ called the T-Charge Quattro+ NW. The latter only actually charges two battery packs at once, but it comes with four. Both of them require only the Wii’s USB port for power, and both are compatible with Wii MotionPlus (as I assume all battery chargers are). Not much new here really, although it is nice to see more induction chargers out in the wild (induction charging requires no fidgety cables nor contacts, only close proximity). Available now, T-Charge Stand Contactless+ NW will cost you $40, while T-Charge Quattro+ NW goes for $35.

We all knew this day was coming – the day that the Nyko Zoom Case for the DSi started shipping out to stores. In case you missed the coverage from E3, the Zoom Case is just an ordinary, run of the mill protective case for your DSi… except that your $25 also gets you a big honkin’ lens that can be attached and detached at a moment’s notice, via what appears to be a bayonet mount. No information is given about the lens itself (materials, elements, etc) but I’ll go out on a limb and say that it’s not quite up to the standards of, say, Leica glass. I don’t really know of anybody using their DSi as a camera, and I’d guess that’s because their phones already have better quality cameras built in, but I’ll entertain the thought that it’s simply because they don’t have a gigantic lens yet.

LOS ANGELES – October 28, 2009

Leading gaming peripherals manufacturer, Nyko Technologies®, today announced that the Zoom Case, a detachable optical zoom lens and hard shell case for the Nintendo DSi™ , is now available on store shelves for $24.99. On the heels of Nintendo’s DSi update, which allows users to upload pictures directly to Facebook™, the Zoom Case will enable users to share clear shots taken from greater distances, while protecting their DSi from scuffs and scratches.

“Nyko strives to find ways we can improve upon today’s latest gaming systems,” said Chris Arbogast, Director of Marketing at Nyko Technologies. “That tradition continues in a product like the Zoom Case which improves upon one of the landmark features of the DSi, enabling gamers to take higher quality images, which is perfect for the growing suite of social networking capabilities available on the platform.”

Nyko’s Zoom Case, a protective case with an 8x zoom lens for the DSi, significantly magnifies the handheld’s external camera. The Zoom Case wraps around the DSi, protecting it from bumps and scratches while the removable 8x optical zoom lens allows for closer, clearer shots from a greater distance. The zoom lens easily locks onto the Zoom Case, and when not in use can be safely stored in its own hard case for easy travel. The case’s textured grip provides a more comfortable hold for extended gameplay sessions.

Blaze Europe realizes that those accessories that make your Wiimote look like a bowling ball or tennis racket are flawed. Now, I always thought that the flaw was that they take up space, look absurd, and provide no real benefit to the gamer. Blaze, on the other hand, is under the impression that their flaw is the nasty hard plastic. Solution: the Wii Soft & Safe Sports Pack, a set of “ultra realistic sporting attachments” made of “family safe soft foam materials,” so you can avoid all the trouble of smashing your TV or your best friend’s face. The set of bow, handlebars, frisbee, paddle, and bat are scheduled for release soon, at a price of £15.

Bigben Interactive is set to release two new exercise games for the Wii in Europe this winter – My Body Coach and Cyberbike. The former is a workout routine which seems similar to exercise games already available for the Wii, except it eschews the Balance Board for a pair of 500g (~1 lb) dumbbells into which the Wiimotes are inserted. Unfortunately, there is no mention of further weights being available, suggesting that many will outgrow the peripherals quickly. Additionally, My Body Coach gives you nutrition advice, including meal suggestions.

Cyberbike comes with the proverbial straw-breaking-the-camel’s-back accessory for your Wii – an entire bike. That’s right, you get an exercise bike which you then connect to your Wii so you can cycle through 18 courses, clean up trash, and unlock new backpacks! It sounds pretty ridiculous, but if you were planning to get an exercise bike anyway, why not Wii it up a little?

STAY IN SHAPE WITH BIGBEN INTERACTIVE

This Winter Bigben Interactive releases two Wii™ video games with innovative accessories to help you keep in shape: a full-size exercise bike and a personal trainer that includes advice on nutrition.

CYBERBIKE

Discover the very first video game that comes with an exercise bike—have fun while pedalling! Cyberbike introduces a brand new way to do sports in your living room. The game invites you use your eco-citizen’s head and legs to clean up the planet. Clear paths and roads of the sources of pollution that are ruining the environment as you cycle along on some of the most improbable vehicles ever imagined—on land, sea and air. Using the bike included with the game, players are able to ride through 18 different circuits. As you progress, numerous accessories are unlocked to customise your vehicles and equipment, such as new backpacks and new vehicle colours.

There’s something for all the family with three game modes: Fitness, Story, and Multiplayer (up to four players taking turns).

The exercise bike bundled with the game is a genuine innovation. It is simple to connect it to your Nintendo Wii and can be used by all the family thanks to the adjustable saddle and handlebars.

MY BODY COACH

Discover My Body Coach, your new personal trainer! Stressed? Looking to shed a few pounds? Want to tone up but never find time to get to the gym? With My Body Coach you can get sporty any time you like, in the comfort of your own living room.

Developed in partnership with sports and nutrition specialists, My Body Coach provides you with a personal programme adapted to your age, sex, weight and physical condition. The famous trainer to Hollywood stars, Valérie Orsoni, follows your progress and provides precious advice every step of the way. To complement your sporting activities you’ll be given all the advice on nutrition you’ll need, including suggestions for meals.

You can decide to follow your personal programme to the letter or jump straight into the gym with a session of your choice. Set the duration and type of exercise, (muscle strengthening, or cardio training) and go! Your every movement is captured by the Wiimotes and transmitted to the virtual coach who will guide your activities from your TV screen.

With sessions from seven minutes to an hour long, warm up and stretching included, your activities are ever changing so you’ll never get bored. Over 200 different movements!

My Body Coach comes with two 500g dumbbells into which you slide the Wiimotes.

A genuine customised training program, My Body Coach will train every part of your body and help you reach the objectives you set for yourself. My Body Coach is more than a video game: it’s the ideal training partner for sports.

My Body Coach will launch on 20th November while Cyberbike will be published in January 2010, both from Big Ben Interactive.

When this first showed up on the radar I wasn’t sure if it was real or not. After being force fed the truth that it does indeed exist (as a patent), I had visions of Nintendo’s E3 conference and the Vitality Sensor flash across my brain. Face in palm.

But then, something clicked, and now I can see the potential in this. The Wiimote slides into a pocket in the inflatable seat, where it is free to detect all sorts of bounces and tilts. Another Wiimote or the Nunchuk can then be used as reigns or a sword. Nintendo describes using it to simulate riding everything from “bulls, camels, elephants, burros, dolphins, whales” as well as the more awesome “dragons, griffons, unicorns, [and] giant eagles”. That’s right, Nintendo listed griffons in the patent. More pictures after the break.
