This edition of the mailbag was actually recorded for our second podcast, so if you’d rather listen to it, you can find it by clicking here. If you’re the kind that likes to read the mailbags instead, we’ve gone ahead and transcribed the entire mailbag session after the break. This time, we cover topics including Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Super Paper Mario, third party sales on the Wii, and - of course - Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

You can read the transcript after the break, and find out (just as we did) that our “crutch words” are “like” and “you know.” :P I’ve also thrown in an extended answer to the Fire Emblem question, and you can read Michael’s input on third party sales that was left out of the podcast for time. Enjoy!

It’s that time again! We’ve got another edition of the mailbag for you all, and it’s pretty long again. Maybe we can make these weekly?

Anyway, this week sees a lot of questions about Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, in addition to questions about Wii Music, clone characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, The Tanooki’s “Treasure Ship” feature, and the seeming fall of hardcore games. What does the staff around here think? Click on to find out!

About time, hm? Today we revive the mailbag feature (after nearly three months!) with quite a hefty mailbag! Seriously, it’s long. This time, we talk about great games that will be overshadowed this fall by the “Big Three,” the console wars, moderators on The Tanooki Forums, reviving old SEGA franchises, band camp, and yes, Metroid Prime 3. Grab a few snacks and hit the link to read the mailbag after the break.

Wal-Mart Wii and DS feature displays

Published by Christian under Mailbag, Nintendo DS, Wii

One of the submissions I got for the upcoming mailbag included a picture of Nick’s local Wal-Mart display for the Wii and DS in downtown Atlanta. It’s quite the spotlight, and normally only something you see for the newest mp3 players or digital cameras or camcorders. Here’s what Nick had to say:

Since this picture was taken, they did actually get a Wii in and place it next to the DS lite, and put a nunchuck and a classic controller on those two empty pedestals. There is still a large wii game and ds game/system section back with the other video games, but they put this on the main aisle, much like the ipod display case a lane over. Anyways, I thought it was neat, them putting the wii and the ds out like this, and was curious if other walmarts had done the same.

That brings me to why I’m sharing this well ahead of the mailbag. Have your local Wal-Marts done the same? Is there a special section just to show off Nintendo’s pair of cash cows? If so, let me know!
