Wii Fit Challenge complete! How’d it go?

Published by Pete
Tags: Final Results, Wii, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Challenge

It hasn’t been easy (not saying that it has been particularly difficult either), but the Wii Fit Challenge has come to a close. Last week two of the competitors were locked atop the leader board, with yours truly  a little ways behind. Click over to see who came out on top as well as well as catch some reflections from the Fitters themselves. PS All official final weights were taken prior to Thanksgiving dinner.

Eleven Weeks in, and a Wii bit fitter

Published by Pete
Tags: Week 11 results, Wii, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Challenge

The challenge is just about over, and for the sake of having consistency, I’ve decided to call the end of Week 12 Wednesday night. That way, nobody is weighed down with an extra turkey leg, or (in my case) an extra pumpkin pie.

As for the competiton so far? I don’t want to talk about it. Let’s just say it’s now a two horse race, and I have equestrian alergies. It’s a tough life, I know! Tune it on Thanksgiving to see who comes out on top, and get reactions from the contestants.

Top 11 most desired features of the next console generation

Published by Rhody
Tags: Console Generation, Consoles, Featured Article, The List

This past week, we saw the anniversaries of the Wii and DS, as well as the PlayStation 3. Today is the anniversary of the Xbox 360. The GameCube was released on November 18th, 2001, and the Xbox on November 15th. This is the time of year console manufacturers often choose to release their latest hardware, which means November is often the beginning of the newest console generation. So what better time to think about the next generation?

Whether you like this generation (so far) or not, it’s pretty much undeniable that it has brought plenty of new features, as well as some brand new problems. With this list, we’ll look at some of the things that could be fixed, refined, or even introduced with the next generation of consoles.

Fitness continues into week 10

Published by Pete
Tags: Week 10 results, Wii, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Challenge

Sorry for the late update this week, the three of us have become increasingly busy as the semester begins the final stretch into… well… finals. The board remains pretty solid this week, which is great after the loses of the previous.

Of course there is still a giant delicious curve ball (or Butterball perhaps) to come. A twist in the plot with more gravy, cranberries, and tryptophan than any mortal man could possibly resist. You guessed it, I’m talking about having a new President.

The Wii Fit race tightens in week 9

Published by Pete
Tags: Week 9 results, Wii, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Challenge

The election may be on the front of every one’s minds this week, but the other race is just starting to get interesting. Baby Kanga has come out of nowhere to put himself back into the mix, as Pwnie Boy solidified his spot on top with another solid week. I don’t get to go home for Thanksgiving this year, so I hope that will help be move back into the contention in a few weeks. Eat all the pumpkin pie you can find, you two. I promise it won’t hurt anything. It’s basically weightless. In fact I heard you lose weight by eating it.

Top 5 games that should be on the Wii… but aren’t.

Published by Michael
Tags: Feature, Port, The List, Wii

It’s any gamer’s ultimate fantasy: “How awesome would a remake of Final Fantasy VII be on the DS?”, “Wouldn’t Halo be ridiculously good on the Wii?”, “Did you hear that they’re doing a remake of Metal Gear Solid for the Wii? Oh really? They’re not doing it? Well they should…”

These are inherent problems in a multi-console industry. We got a taste of this in the Hi-def video war, but Sony came out on top in that one. I have a feeling that the console wars will eventually give way to a single, universal console, but the how and when of that happening is beyond my comprehension. This list is sort of look into the future of gaming - to a time when we can all get along and all play the same games (without having to drop several thousand bucks on various consoles and peripherals… PC gaming included).

Coming from a very specific background of gaming, this list may be a little biased, but I wholeheartedly believe that every game on this list deserves to be on the Wii - regardless of who developed it and disregarding any difficulties involving the publisher or rights. A sort of video game transmogrifier. Feel free to add to the list in the comments section! Just narrow your favorite games down to the ones that could make good use of the Wii Remote.

Week 8 sees more losses, which is a good thing

Published by Pete
Tags: Week 8 results, Wii, Wii Fit, Wii Fit Challenge

After a pretty unsteady start, things have become a little more consistent. Pwnie Boy has lengthened his lead a little, Joey is sitting rock solid at the weight he came in at (you just can’t mess with perfection, I’ve tried to tell him), and the Crusader has moved down ever so slightly. One month left.

Wii Fit Challenge stretches into week 5

Published by Pete

While Joey is still in the red, overall put together a much more solid performance this week. I have been paying close attention to my flexibility over the last week, and have definitelymade strides since the beginning of the challenge. In particular with the half moon and downward dog stretches. Next week marks the half way point of the challenge.

Wii Fit Challenge: Week Four

One month down, two to go. After last week’s poor-formance, will fitness fight back? Or will the sluggish slide continue? Summer has officially passed our competitors by, and as Autumn rolls in will it be the pounds or the people that fall? Find out! …After the break.

Tanooki Original: Lag of Smash Bros. proportions gets personal

Published by Pete
Tags: Feature, Real Life Lag, Tanooki Original, Videos

Another original video from me, this one inspired by the epic battle I had with my router over the Summer. We’ve since settled things, and I get the internet every other weekend plus Mondays and Tuesdays. Right now the internet still technically belongs to the router but only because she has a better job than me. As soon as I move into a nicer place and find work I’m going to reapply for custody.
