Sega to release soundtrack compilation for Sonic’s 20th anniversary

Not unlike Nintendo’s celebrations for Mario and Zelda’s recent 25th anniversaries, Sega has been rolling out the blue carpet for Sonic’s upcoming 20th. In addition to Sonic Generations, the multiplatform rehash of Sonic’s 2D and 3D past, a commemorative soundtrack featuring the music from Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2, as well as their demotapes and bonus tracks, will be released in Japan. No word on yet on a Western release.

Wow, that’s awesome. I love all the old video game music being brought back. Sonic had some of the best music. Now we just need the video game music cover bands to do Sonic songs… I am talking to you Minibosses!!
