Now I know that the official dates of E3 are June 7th-9th, but really, for many of us, the excitement starts much earlier than that. Many from our staff are sipping margaritas along Venice Beach (or at least should be), ready to pounce on any information seeping out of the cracks in Los Angeles. As for the rest of us less-fortunate folk, there are still a few things to do. Luckily, I’ve provided a handy 3 step guide to make your e3 week as smooth as possible:
Step One: Clear your schedule.
Sell your dog, break up with your significant other, quit your job, and turn off your phone. Heck, if you want to make things easier, just fake your death and then reappear out of the wilderness with a story at the end of the week.
Step Two: Clear your mind
You must stay sharp, and I don’t mean tack sharp. I’m talking sharp as a chemically assisted, spatially controlled, field evaporated, single atom tip. I want you to clear all your preconceived notions out of that file cabinet on your shoulders, and be prepared for everything you didn’t expect. If you get caught up in it, you going to get left behind.
Step Three: Clear your cache
This is potentially the most important step. If your looking at TheTanooki right now and thinking “I’m not sure I like this new plate of spaghetti format they went to”, it’s probably because we didn’t. The site has had a few changes, and you may be stuck hovering between them. Just dig into your browser settings and do some spring cleaning.
Done with all that? Well good! Now that you are a game-news Jedi, go get some sleep, and I’ll see you here soon.
