The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for 3DS, on its way for Spring 2011, was among the titles to be shown off for Nintendo World 2011. Arguably the most anticipated “remake” coming to the three dimensional hand held, it’s interesting to see what is remains, and what changes to accommodate the 3DS.
The demo showed three files, one in Kokiri Village, another in the Deku Tree dungeon. Items are selected on the touch screen, with a simple tap switching between inventory, equipment, and dungeon map. In the absence of the 64 controller’s yellow C buttons. A tappable Navi icon appears when she wants to speak.
A camera icon will appear on the touch screen, which will launch you into view mode with a single tap, where you can aim projectile weapons or use the Circle Pad in view mode to look around. Now, here’s an interesting bit– while in view mode, you can also move the 3DS itself to change the camera angle. This isn’t limited to the camera angle, either, you can aim your weapons as well!
I can just see it now: Tanooki staff at E3 2011, fighting for elbow room in Jason’s crammed car while swiveling our 3DS’s to our hearts delight. Can’t wait!
