Famitsu awards rare perfect score to Pokemon Black and White

In the 20 year history of Famitsu, a perfect score has been awarded a mere 14 times, spanning Nintendo favorites such as Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and more recently, New Super Mario Bros. Wii. Add to this prestigious list the upcoming 5th generation in Pokémon titles, Black and White. Pokémon news source BulbaNews located the above screen shot of the Famitsu page, which you can see in full below.

The latest generation adds a host of new features, including three on three battles, friend assisted quests, and of course, dozens of new Pokémon. It debuts in North America sometime in Spring 2011. Does the Famitsu score make you even more excited for Black and White?

Back to the question, I do think this score will impact the sales in North America. Pokemon games already sell big time over here (Pokemon FireRed for the Advanced still sells for $27.99 USED!!!), Imagine the commercial for a perfect score Pokemon game. I can hear it now “The greatest Pokemon games of ALL TIME!!!”.

Especially because Pokemon games have never gotten over a 35/40 from Famitsu.

Ha, should have seen that coming. I should have used the word rarely.

^^ 4/9 mentioned have gotten at least a 35, i wouldnt call that particularly rare, especially as the others were within 2 points of this
