PAX 2010: Metroid: Other M drawing chalks up the lobby floor

In the main lobby of Seattle’s Convention Center during this past weekend’s PAX 2010, a familiar figured appeared on the entrance floor, emerging bit by bit over the course of the three day event. As you can see, the image was quite large, and at my less than impressive height, hard to photograph, but I got the full image from above, at the artist’s suggestion, on the final day. Check it out, along with our gallery of progress shots, below.

Glad everyone is liking the mural. For those who like specs, it is 9 feet wide by 12 feet tall and took 31 hours to complete (the first 4 of which I did at home making the under sketch in white colored pencil.) I finished it up on Sunday at about 12:30 PM, and my time at PAX was a blast (just like last year). Oh, and my name is Eric Maruscak, and my website is http://www.pepperink.com. Nintendo of America should be sharing the full time lapse video I made of the mural's creation sometime soon, it will also go up on my site.

If you want to see more mural work from shows (and time lapse videos of my C2E2 and Star Wars Celebration V chalk murals) swing on by the site, and let me know what you think. :)

Your work is incredible! So great that everyone at PAX got to see it up close. We'll be sure to post the time lapse video once it goes live.

And if you ever find yourself bored, feel free to create a giant Tanooki mural :)
