Retro Studios briefly commented that DK’s animal friends were an integral part of the first three Donkey Kong Country titles, but wouldn’t say much about whether we should expect their return in the upcoming Wii title DKC Returns. If the game’s boxart is any indication, they’re back in some form or another.
Clearly visible on the bottom left corner next to DK is Rambi the rhinoceros himself. The lovable, horny companion was featured in the first level of the series, so his return is quite welcome. He does look kind of depressed in that picture though. Let’s hope he hasn’t joined the game’s crew of baddies.
