Capcom crossover Mega Man Universe announced

Very exciting news today for Capcom and Mega Man fans. Capcom has announced Mega Man Universe, a game scant on details but high on the intrigue. The press release said little, but this teaser trailer, exclusive to GameSpot, indicates that the title will either bring Mega Man into classic Capcom universe favorites, or vice versa. Or both! In the video you’ll see a charming claymation-like Mega Man duking it out as he always does, joined by a few friends. Says Kenji Inafune, Head of Research and Development Management for Capcom Entertainment:

“We are thrilled to finally be able to announce Mega Man Universe. This game will break the mold and challenge the conventional wisdom of what a Mega Man game can be. When fans finally get to see it, I believe they’ll envision their most far-out Mega Man dreams coming true.”

Is it just me, or does the ad have a very 80′s feel to it? I can’t tell which I like that better, or the cute in-jokes the commercial is sandwiched between. Sadly, this has only been announced for PS3 and XBOX 360 so far. More details, like maybe a release date or price, are expected after the upcoming ComicCon.
