Dragon Age II, previously hinted with an advertisement included in EA’s Dragon Age: Origins DLC disc, has now been officially confirmed. The sequel to the surprise hit of 2009 was revealed with a stunning Game Informer cover, pictured to the right.
This follow up will feature a brand new protagonist, who players can choose either a male or female version of (a la Mass Effect 2). It also boasts updated graphics and a fresh visual style, as well as “dynamic new combat mechanics”.
A trailer is promised for August 17, and for now there’s no reason not to believe that Dragon Age II will be released on February 1, 2011, the date given by the teaser art insert. Be sure to check out some of the concept art from the official site, below.
