EA Sports is releasing the 2011 edition of their NHL series for PS3 and Xbox 360 later this fall, but Wii owners won’t be left out in the dark. Coming this September, NHL Slapshot will bring hockey back to Nintendo consoles.
The E3 game trailer above has the game’s Senior Producer Joe Nickolls explaining the title’s features, including the Peewee to Pros career mode, as well as the new hockey still peripheral. I got a chance to play a bit of Slapshot, and I got to say, it does a great job of bringing arcade hockey back to consoles. The hockey stick peripheral is a nice touch too.
