Given the success of the Chicago Blackhawks this hockey season, it was likely that one of their own would be featured on the cover of EA Sports NHL 11. It’s been announced that Johnathan Toews has been selected as coverboy for the game, which will release this September.
The 22-year-old has had quite an impressive career thus far. After being picked third in the 06/07 season draft, Toews has become one of the most talented players in the game. He also shined during the Vancouver Olympic games where he helped team Canada take home the gold.
“I am really excited to be on the cover of NHL 11,” said Toews. “It’s been an amazing year for me and the team, and it’s nice to end it by being a part of a game I played growing up.”
This is the only time EA Sports has featured two yearly back to back titles featuring players from the same team. Last year, Blackhawks player Patrick Kane was on the cover of NHL 10.
