EA Sports’ earlier today teased on their Facebook page that a sports game titled “Elite” would be coming. Now it’s been confirmed that EA Sports’ basketball franchise NBA Live has been killed, in favor of the re-branded title NBA Elite.
EA Sports’ NBA Elite 11 will be the first title in the series, releasing this year.
“We knew it was time to leave the past behind,” stated an official press release from EA. “We have exciting and significant changes coming to our NBA game this year that will usher in the future of basketball videogames. We look forward to releasing information on exactly how we’ll be doing that over the next few months.”
What changes you can expect for Elite over Live have yet to be seen, but there are rumors that a new control scheme will give the gamer more control over the player’s hands and ball placement. We’ll let you know all the confirmed details as soon as we can.
