Link stars in new DSi XL commercial

I always think Nintendo does a great job with their advertising, and this commercial is no exception. To show off the 93% larger screens of the DSi XL, Nintendo brought in Link and his adventure The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks Phantom Hourglass to  promote the handheld. The ad has been around for a few weeks, but it’s still pretty clever.

Thanks to one of our readers, I realize the ad does not feature Link’s most recent title, Spirit Tracks. Pretty odd decision, but I guess any Zelda game is good enough for me.

Oh, FAIL Tanooki. This is footage of the temple on the Goron island where Link gets the red pure metal from the first Legend of Zelda for the DS, PHANTOM HOURGLASS, not Spirit Tracks. By the music (the music is much better in ST), the fact that there were no Bombchus in ST, and the presence of Ciela the spirit of courage. There is no way in hell anyone who has played those games would mistake this for Spirit Tracks. Just pure fail.
