I enjoy Advance Wars, I do… but I could never get into them as much as I can with its sister series, Fire Emblem. By the time I’d manufacture reinforcements and move them into battle, my enemy would have destroyed the units I was trying to reinforce thus leaving me where I started, albeit a little poorer.
Perhaps I should take a shot at this fan-made board game version. Titled “Skirmish Wars: Advance Tactics,” the game is an tabletop adaptation created by Andrew Tullsen, Matthew Kloth, and Brandon Pennington. It’s a Print & Play game, so you can just as easily head over to the site, print out a custom board/field, scrap together something to use for board pieces, and gather some buddies for some good ol’ tactical board game fun.
