Goin’ to the chapel where they’ll… blow into the cartridge…

I love seeing quality game cakes. Some are complicated, some are simple, but what I appreciate about them is their attention to detail.

Check out a perfect example of that in this cake created by Rachel Melnick, commissioned by a bride as a surprise for her groom. This NES cake didn’t have a ton of flash or frills, but what’s there looked almost 100% authentic. In fact, there’s even a picture of the couple picking up and holding the controllers as actual controllers. The colors, proportions, everything was absolutely perfect. Absolutely beautiful. If only all cakes received this much care while being made, I’m sure we’d have a much more thorough collection of wedding cakes to show off!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I feel the need to compensate for this post and find something more manly to do.
