Netflix Instant Streaming launches on Wii tomorrow

Great news for those that love the Instant Streaming service, available through Netflix.

Your Nintendo Wii consoles will now have that service, all thanks to a special disc. The discs are being sent out to any Netflix subscriber who requested them, via their website.

Netflix assured users that as soon as your disc arrives, the Instant Streaming feature will be instantly available through your Wii.

Simply add movies to your queue online, or browse through different categories, and you’re all set! Despite the lack of HD, this is a welcome feature to all Wii console owners.

My disc will arrive tomorrow, which can’t come soon enough!

    Stoked for mine to come tomorrow too… Now whether or not my mail actually gets delivered tomorrow is a different story…

    I don't see this being a huge hit. People have TVs and a lot have other means to get movies. I don't mean to sound critical about Netflix, but I think they're just jumping on a bandwagon right now, doing anything they possibly can.

    They've been doing it for a while, just not on Wii… I'm not sure what “People have TVs” means, when you would clearly be running the Wii through your TV. You're right, it may not be a huge hit, but largely because Netflix does already have it on the other consoles, as well as countless STBs and Blu-Ray players, etc… But I'm personally looking forward to it, having been too lazy & cheap to snag up a Netflix compatible STB.
