This one’s really starting to pick up some steam, huh? Following on heels of Motomu Toriyama’s admission that he’d love to helm a remake of the classic Final Fantasy VII, the head of Square Enix, Yoichi Wada has finally come out to say that his company will seriously consider the investment.
“Right now we don’t have a clear direction, but many fans have requested we remake Final Fantasy VII. We’re going to explore the possibility – whether or not we’re going to do it, if we’re going to do it, and the platform.”
It seems we’ll get more juicy details on what Mr. Wada said in a few days, but apparently (and obviously) cost seemed to be a major issue – even prompting the interviewer to ask if a PSP version might be more feasible. After all, the system’s already got Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, right? We’ll find out more soon.
