If you saw South Park’s season premiere last week, you may have witnesses a few scenes that made EA a bit uncomfortable. The episode re-enacted the infamous (rumored) Thanksgiving Day event’s that took place between Tiger Woods and his wife Elin, after she discovered inappropriate text message conversations between Woods and many, many women. Elin began attacking Tiger with a golf club, accusing him of cheating.
We then get a glimpse of South Park’s Cartman and Kenny, who are actually controlling the above scenario in video game form. Cartman tells his friends it’s the new Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 from EA Sports. Zing!
According to the Daily Informer, EA Sports was reportedly peeved, and “the top beef were called in,” including EA’s head honcho Peter Moore. Despite any hilarity the episode provided, EA feels it may infringe on the copyright of the sports golf sim.
Do you think the latest South Park episode was sue-worthy, or all in good fun?
