Miyamoto trying to get Nintendo DS into schools

That Shigeru Miyamoto. Gotta hand it to him. The dude knows how to do world domination. His next step in taking over all things electronic and hand held? Bringing the DS to the classroom. From CBC News:

“That is maybe the area where I am devoting myself [the] most,” Japanese video game guru Shigeru Miyamoto told The Associated Press in an interview.  Speaking through a translator, Miyamoto said that Nintendo’s DS console was already being used in Japanese museums, galleries and aquariums, and that his company was beginning to roll out the Nintendo DS system “in junior high and elementary schools in Japan starting in the new school year.”

I had no idea they were already using the Nintendo DS in an educational capacity in Japan. I wonder what they plan to do with the DS in the classrooms? Will lesson plans be delivered through the Wi-Fi systems? Maybe training exercises in a variety of scholastic topics? So much potential.

This is pretty crazy, I wish they'd try it over here. Reminds me of that college course for Wii Fitness.
