To many, the artwork you see beside this post may just be too painful to even look at. It brings up a rush of emotions, feelings we can’t even conceive as being a reality. I mean, Mario can’t die, right?
Artist Kordian Lewandwski created a sculpture of Princess Peach holding a helpless, deceased Mario. The piece, titled “Game Over” is constructed out of polystyrene foam, and was inspired by Michelangelo’s La Pieta, a sculpture which shows Mary holding a lifeless Jesus post crucifixion.
Looks like Bowser may have finally won his battle, in art form anyway. Somewhere, Microsoft and Sony fanboys are sadly applauding this.
