DS successor rumors surface from Game Developers Conference

Hungry for DS 2 news? You’re not alone. At the recent Game Developers Conference, held this past week in San Francisco, RPAD’s Raymond Padilla made it his personal mission to dig up info on the next in line to the Nintendo hand held throne, talking to “developers that claim to be working on the new system” in his quest to know more. And what he found was very promising indeed.

The fruit of his efforts reveal an improved dual screen system with a smaller gap, creating a large display as needed; an accelerometer; a performance that mimicks the quality of Gamecube; and a possible late 2010 release date (based on the finish dates of several games in development). As Kotaku points out, this means there may be a reveal at the upcoming E3 conference in June, but its worth remembering that these are also unconfirmed sources (read: not Nintendo) and a rumor at best. *Ahem* now with that little disclaimer out of the way, let the rampant speculation begin? What other improvements should they make on the DS?
