With Super Street Fighter IV arriving later next month, Capcom’s Seth Killian has decided to talk about the improvements and differences the game brings over last year’s Street Fighter IV. Speaking with Gamers Daily News, Killian talks about the ultra moves, some of the new characters and DLC.
In regards to the new ultra system, Killian believes the new ultra moves actually gives the player more control of how of they play the character. Many of the new ultras can be customized to benefit you during gameplay, such as Rose’s energy orb ultra that cab be used as an attack or defense. Also, some characters have ultras that are used as counter attacks.
Killian confirmed that while SSFIV contains no parries, each character from previous SF titles, such as Cody and Guy from Street Fighter III, will preform surprisingly true to how they did in their previous titles. He also notes that some of the new characters are actually the most powerful in the whole game.
With a month left to go before the game’s release, Killian also wants fans to know that not everything about the game has been revealed just yet. “Every returning character has undergone revisions, and even things that look like familiar moves may have some new properties that open up a while new set of opportunities.” Killian believes half the fun of playing a fighting game is discovering these new things on your own through the natural exploration of gameplay.
Super Street Fighter IV hits store shelves on April 27th, in North America.
