Fresh off the heels of releasing two successful snowboarding titles, competing in the Olympics, and posing on the cover of this month’s Rolling Stone, Shaun White has decided to tread on Tony Hawk’s territory. The Olympic gold medalist is releasing his first skateboarding title, Shaun White’s Skateboarding. White’s been skating for as long as he’s been snowboarding, with Tony Hawk actually responsible for helping him turn pro. White spoke with L.A. radio station KROQ about the upcoming skating video game venture.
“I can’t describe how excited I am about the skateboard game,” said White. “We’ve been working on it for a while now and it’s ready to melt minds.”
I guess Ubisoft thought that with the huge disaster that was Tony Hawk Ride, there was room for a new skateboarding franchise to grind the competition. Hopefully we’ll get some more information at next week’s Game Developer’s Conference.
