Another rare Pokemon for free download

The adorable, wish granting, download-only cutie is back! Nintendo is offering a special promotion to give players a chance to get their gaming thumbs on one of the rarest Pokèmon. There hasn’t been a chance to download Pirachi since the Ruby/Sapphire days. Would-be Pokèmon masters will have the chance to make Pirachi their own by visiting Gamestop on any date between February 27 to March 13. All you have to do is bring in a copy of Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum and the free download is yours. Oh, and downloading Pirachi will also open a new route on your Pokéwalker if you transfer it over to HeartGold or SoulSilver. In other words, the only way this offer could get any better is if Jirachi actually granted wishes!

    Oh, you suck, Nintendo. I had gotten over never being able to obtain those promotional pokémon of yours. But now I find out that certain content cannot be unlocked without one in an upcoming title I'd been looking foward to ever since the remakes became a possibility? Darn-near killed my interest. Granted, what gets unlocked probably isn't anything that special, but it's the principle of the thing.

    If you want to see the Pokemon and items available on the Pokewalker course this Jirachi unlocks, go here http://serebii.net/heartgoldsoulsilver/pokewalk… and scroll down to “Edge of the Nights Sky.” You're not really missing much if you don't have that course. There's only two courses worth getting, in my opinion – the WiFi event “Yellow Forest” with Surfing and Flying Pikachus and the other event one “Shopping” where you can catch a Torchic.
