Mario & Sonic take their Olympic adventures to the bank

Thanks to being geared towards an uber casual crowd, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games has sold a whopping 6 million units.  Yeah, it’s a fact. The game released back in October for both the Wii and DS. Despite additions like in game clothing customization, and Wii Balance Board support, the game proves that by combining familiar characters with extremely stale gameplay, you can easily become one of the leading third party titles for the Wii.

Just to note, the game received an average rating in the low 70s for the Wii version and mid 70s for the DS version, according to Metacritic. Regardless, I bet SEGA is now pondering the idea of how to create a Fall Olympic Games. And who could blame them!
