Competition in the mobile device market just got a little steeper as Microsoft announced their Windows Phone 7 Series. Set to take on the iPhone and Nexus One, both of which have vast application offerings and features, the Windows Phone 7 plans on adding a slew of Microsoft features to make the device even more attractive. Status updates of your contacts are available courtesy of Windows Live, and an instant photo upload feature for Facebook is built in, though that’s become pretty standard these days.
Oh right, you wanted to hear about Xbox LIVE! Microsoft is proud to announce that the phone will be the first mobile cellular device to offer access to Xbox LIVE. Through the phone, you’ll be able to play some games, access the Spotlight feed, and view your friend’s achievements, profiles and Avatars. Additionally, the Zune music and video service will be available on the device.
Would access to your Xbox LIVE account make you more prone to purchase a Windows phone?
