Did anyone see this coming? I don’t know what shocks me more, that they’re bringing Street Fighter IV to the iPhone, or that it looks like it might not suck! While the thought of a touch screen version of a fighting game sounds ridiculous at first, in this case its worth another glance. As you can see in the (sadly IGN-exclusive) screenshots, they’ve painstakingly recreated a joystick and arcade buttons on the screen to accommodate the touch controls. Its enough to make a button-free believer out of me.
The iPhone version will feature a practice “Dojo Mode”, as well as a range of customization options for the controls so you can configure them according to desired set up, button transparency, and screen position. A two player mode will also be available through Bluetooth. More info in the coming weeks regarding roster, release date, and price.
