New generation of Pokemon games announced

Bored with Poke Park? Disenchanted with Pokemon Ranger? Don’t worry, the next gen is on its way!

Anticipated for a 2010 release on Nintendo DS in Japan, the game is said to be a new entry in the core series (Red/Blue, Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire, Diamond/Pearl), and not a spin off. The announcement also mentions some new innovations to the series, as well as new Pokemon to collect. An unconfirmed rumor also hints that the new Pokemon might also be featured and/or revealed in the Pokemon movie debuting later this year in Japan.

Well, they already got 493…what’s a few more, am I right? No word on when the new Pokemon will make it to Western shores.

Christian, how did you not post this? After that topic, I expected you to post this. I guess I lose that one though, I realized later how long it had been since D/P release and I figure Nintendo wasn’t going to ride HG/SS for as long as they could have. Then again, they typically release it on a new platform and DSi should be considered an extension of DS like the SP was, though I’m sure they’re not thinking that way. Still a new Pokemon game means good things, especially for us over at Secure right?
