It’s no surprise that Apple has been working on releasing a tablet device to the masses. It seems that the announcement may finally come next week, at a special event planned for January 27th. To confirm the reason for the event, FoxNews broke the news that publisher Harper Collins has been in talks with Apple to bring electronic books to the tablet device. Naturally books would make a great selling point for the tablet, given the success of Kindle.
However, what’s interesting is that gaming website Kotaku has also received an invitation to the event, leaving folks to hypothesize that the tablet may also be geared for gaming. It will be interesting to see what Apple will bring to the table for gamers, especially since their iPhone/ iPod Touch devices have thrived in the App/ gaming market.
All will be revealed January 27th.
